BOJAN SAVIĆ OSTOJIĆ – NEMA OAZE

(edicija Posebna izdanja, 120 strana)

Bezmalo drsko poverivši pripovedanje registru čulnog i opažajnog, Nema oaze radnju naizgled pokrenutu jednom posebnom, fetišistički posvećenom potragom, parabolično ukrupnjava u jednu od najvećih priča među pričama: onu o svrsi i prirodi našeg puta.

„All of the passers-by grasped my attention just because they were passing by. Each of them, first by their walk, then by their speech and finally by their face, drove out and obscured everything that surrounded them, offering their own figures, unrelentingly and inconsiderately. At the moment of passing by each of them was unique. Everything that could have been predictable had vanished. The idea of repetition got lost, as well as time itself: everything was reduced to a singular moment of a step’s apparition and disappearance. One was supposed to grasp it.“

excerpt from the novel

„Relying on sight and walking, the novel No Oasis maps out the limits and qualities of contemporary world. Almost audaciously confiding the narration to the register of sensations and perceptions, No Oasis enlarges the action – a specific, fetishist kind of research – and transforms it into the biggest stories of all: the one about the meaning and nature of our own path. The inexistence of an oasis (and of the optimal social ecosystems) is not only situated at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of this walk, but also in the fact that, if there indeed are no oases, then there are also no mirages that we are so often tempted to invent as the places to rest on that path.
